Community Development
Professionals is here to help your organization build its capacity in five areas by offering free training and technical assistance
to nonprofits in Butler, Warren, Preble and Clinton Counties. CDP awarded subgrants to eligible nonprofits in 2008 and
2009 to help build the capacity of those community organizations. Check back in mid April for your opportunity to respond
to an RFP. Capacity building activities are organized into the following five areas by
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Leadership Development:
Leadership development includes the areas of board composition and function, staff professional development, volunteer development
and succession planning. Organizational Development: The areas of organizational
development include board governance, business systems, such as management, human resources, financial, or information
technology, planning, policies and procedures, and incorporation as a nonprofit. Program
Development: Program Development includes activities such as curriculum development, program monitoring and program evaluations
and outcomes development. Revenue Development: Revenue development includes activities
such as development of a donor strategy, grant writing training, development of a resource development plan or purchase of
donor tracking software. Community Engagement:
Community engagement is an area that includes activities such as asset mapping, assessing community needs and the establishment
of collaborative relationships.

It's an easy three step process Step 1: Download the
Non-Profit Questionaire below, fill it out, and submit it to our office. Step 2:
Register for Back to Basics - the foundational training on nonprofit organizational development. Step 3: Check the website often for up-to-date information on free training, technical assistance
updates and to download the 2010 Request for Proposal. It's easy! That's it!
