Description of Subaward Funding Opportunity
These subawards are to
be used to build the capacity of your organization. Capacity building is defined as "the process of implementing
activities critical to the long-term viability of organizations to increase the effectiveness of programmatic activities and
organizational operations." Capacity building activites should increase an organization's sustainability and effectiveness,
enhance its ability to provide social services, and/or create collaborations to better serve those most in need. Five
critical areas of capacity building are: - Leadership Development
- Organizational Development
- Program Development
- Revenue Development Strategies
- Community Engagement
Basic Subaward Information
- CDP expects to award at least 18 subawards each year
- Subawards are expected to range from $3,000 to $10,000 per award
- The RFP is competitive; subaward recipients will not be pre-selected
- Subaward recipients do not have to provide matching funds
- Subawards should be requested in amounts that are manageable for the overall size
of the requesting organization; financial information will be required in the requestor’s proposal, per the RFP, to
support the appropriateness of the amount requested
- Subawards may not be used to support direct services; they may only be used
to support capacity building activities for the nonprofit organization
Request for Proposal Information
The Request for Proposal is now available. Proposals are due in our office no later
than 5:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2010.
Remember! Attendance at Back to Basics Training is a prerequisite
for applying for these funds. Back to Basics will be offered on February 16, 2010. This is your last opportunity
