We would like to thank all of the organizations that submitted proposals and congratulate you for your efforts. If you were not awarded, there will be another opportunity for you to submit a proposal for capacity-building funds under CDPBridgeworks. Organizations are welcome and encouraged to contact CDP for technical assistance.

2009 (Round 2) Subaward Recipients


R.S.B. Character Education - $9,931.73

  • Brock's Adventures was established in 2005 as a community based positive character education program. Nine character books have been written, illustrated and published featuring a Newfoundland dog named Brock which guides characters through tough choices. Robin Atyeo, the author, dog owner, founder of R.S.B, self-published the leveled book series, teacher resources, song CDs, Brock  Buddy rewards and student monthly activity calendars. The curriculum was created especially for local schools and community groups by personalizing the series using recognizable community landmarks as backdrops for the story settings. R.S.B.'s mission is to instill positive character traits in every child through an exciting, interactive, unique way and build connections between home, school and community. This program is built to model and teach acceptable responses to peer pressure and encourage children whose families are going through transition.

Restoring Lives International, Inc - $9,985.33

  •   Restoring Lives International's mission is to teach, equip and empower people to walk victoriously in health, healing, wholeness and freedom so that they may live whole, healthy productive lives

PAL - $10,000.00 

  • The National Police Athletic League was founded over 65 years ago. The City of Hamilton Charter of the Police Athletic League (PAL) program began in November 2008, as a result of Hamilton Police Officers responding to seeing a need to reach youth through crime prevention and intervention programs. Currently this is the only Charter in Butler County. Through partnerships with police officers and volunteers, we are fulfilling our mission to build character in youth through athletic, academic and leadership development programs.

 ReClaimKids - $5,000.00

  • ReClaimKids is a 501(c)3 organization formed in 2005 to assist the orphan population of sub-Saharan Africa, where UNICEF estimates 46 million orphan children reside. ReClaimKids currently targets its efforts in Liberia and Uganda, where HIV/AIDS and war have left a disproportionate number of orphan children that USAID considers "highly vulnerable," given child exploitation in these regions. ReClaimKids works through U.S. based community members and youth to engage them, at a grassroots level, in the rewarding work of humanitarian service to international children. Since its inception in 2005, ReClaimKids has directed over $200,000 in priveate donations to housing and education projects for African children.

Circle Tail - $7,547.00

  • Circle Tail is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 1997. Circle Tail's mission is to provide high quality assistance dogs to people with mobility, hearing, neurological or psychiatric disabilities, at no charge, and promote the human-canine bond in the community by providing dog adoptions, obedience training, behavior management and boarding services.

Middletown Arts Center - $5,440.00

  • The mission of the Middletown Arts Center is to create opportunities for artistic expression through knowledge. The Center's purpose is to partner with communities in our artistic endeavors to provide a welcoming, stimulating and diverse learning environment with professional facilites, artists, classes and exhibits and workshops.

Friends of the Middletown Public Library - $10,000.00

  • The Friends of the Middletown Public Library is a group of volunteers dedicated to making a good library better. The freinds offer support to the Middletown and Trenton libraries, who in turn offer community outreach programs and activities.

Providence VIII - $9,339.19.00

  • Providence VIII, Inc., Group Home for Boys, was created to provide structured rehabilitative residential services to at-risk, delinquent and disenfranchised youth who require substitute care.

Feed the Hungry - $10,000.00

  • The Feed the Hungry Project's mission is to provide nutritious hot meals, adequate clothing, and be a resourceful agency in resolving additional indigent concerns in a spiritual and moral environment, by empowering and encouraging hope; establishing positive change in people's lives.

 

2009 (Round 1) Subaward Recipients


  • Caring Partners, Intl. - $10,000
    •  Caring Partners, Intl. is a worldwide medical ministry helping those in need is to dramatically change their circumstances by providing them with urgently needed medical supplies and materials, education, better trained health care providers, and front-line primary patient care.
  • Clinton County Youth Council - $10,000
    • Clinton County Youth Council (CCYC) is a non-profit volunteer organization. The CCYC mission is to meet the social, recreational and developmental needs of youth in Clinton County by coordinating local resources and expertise. Three messages run through everything offered by CCYC - non-violence, non-substance and the prevention of teenage pregnancies.
  • Darlene Bishop Home for Life - $9,958.75
    • The mission of the Darlene Bishop Home for Life is to minister to the needs of women 18 and older who are pregnant, or dealing with abuse, or addictions and to encourage positive choices within an atmosphere of hope and healing. The Home for Life provides shelter, food, discipleship training, life skills preparation, job skills readiness, thereby, equipping each resident with the necessary tools to be set free and lead productive lives within their communities.Three messages run through everything offered by CCYC - non-violence, non-substance and the prevention of teenage pregnancies.

  • Middletown Performing Arts Academy - $10,000
    • A Christian based organization providing music education and appreciation for the Performing Arts.
  • Oxford College Corner Clinic - $3,120
    • Oxford College Corner Clinic is a community non-profit clinic providing free primary medical care, with the help of a volunteer staff, to the uninsured and underinsured adult population of the area.
  • Oxford Senior Citizens, Inc. - $10,000
    • The purpose of this organization is to provide health and social services, education, and inspirational programs for the senior citizens of our community.
  • Southwestern Ohio K-9 Search and Rescue, Inc. - $8,678
    • Southwestern Ohio K-9 Search and Rescue is a volunteer organization trained to provide search and rescue functions in wilderness, rural and urban environments.
